The one that got away... no visual, no netting, but I'll always remember this moment. After heading upstream like a tank this trout ran out at least 100 yards into my backing. It took me about 40 minutes to stop shaking and screaming, laughing or feeling like I was going to cry. I've never had a fish get into my backing, not steelhead, not my largest landed, nothing. It was amazing, even if I lost him. I'll fish as long as I need to to have a fight like that again. My dad would be proud, even with an empty net. My heart is satisfied. Life is beautiful.
