A new classification scheme for periodontal and peri-implant diseases and conditions is published through 2017 World Workshop. The academy has agreed 1. Set bleeding on probing (BOP) as primary indicator for diagnosing periodontal health and gingival conditions. 2. The new scheme is listed according to the severity of the disease, and patients' status. (untreated / controlled periodontitis and etc.) 3. A clear classification differentiates forms of periodontitis and related systemic diseases. 4. Adding peri-implant health and its conditions including both peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. 5.
