Spring is associated with the Wood element in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is associated with the colour green, with birth, with renewal. Sinews and tendons are the tissues that are linked to the Wood element - this is a great time to get back on our yoga mats, to benefit from the gentle stretching of our sinews and tendons. This helps with the free flow of Qi and vitality within our bodies. . Anger is the emotion that is associated with this season. Anger in TCM can include anger, frustration, repressed anger, resentment & irritation. In this season, we may find that our patience might not be as abundant as it usually is. Other ways this can show up is through stronger than normal premenstrual symptoms. . A great way to shift away from anger is to make a point of doing something kind for someone else. This can be anything. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture. It can be something simple and small. Something to brighten someone's day. . Have you notice any shifts within yourself when the seasons change? I certainly have.
