1940’s train carriage accommodation.
Definitely felt this one during dinner last night! Are the island gods displeased that we are leaving tomorrow? Or are they trying to hurry us away??????
Success on this morning’s wild pig hunt. This crew got a deer last night too.
Prep work for the arrival of the lodge guests! Maureen and Aubrey gathered & assembled some flower arrangements; Aidan and Art built a picnic table.
A busy and fun weekend at On The Track Lodge! A large group of guests arrived and Saturday night became pizza night!
Big cleanup day today to get the place looking awesome for when our hosts get back home tomorrow! Note to Maya: as a teenager you are supposed to not enjoy manual labor
Job needs to get done. Job requires driving farm machinery. Call Aidan.
Putting in a few hours of work this nice Sunday morning. Maybe a hike with the dogs or some fishing this afternoon. Life is pretty good as Workawayers in New Zealand 🙂
Sunny morning + garden watering job + French press coffee = Maureen’s morning happy place
Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! Our holiday yesterday (remember, here in NZ we’re in The Future) ended with one of Aidan’s best-ever campfires under a perfectly-clear Southern Hemisphere starry sky.
So here's our little secret. A few weeks ago our hosts here at the On The Track Lodge emailed to ask if we were able to move our arrival date in New Zealand forward in order to care for the lodge and animals for a bit while they visited some family and friends. Took us about a half-second to say yes! So we ARE working and we DO have a list of tasks to complete, but starting this morning and for the next week+, in addition to our Workaway experience we are now lucky to have the most amazing housesitting gig imaginable!
MAN WORK TODAY GRRRRRR
Everyone is making new friends!
