🍃 The #Andert brothers: Erich and Michael, certified Demeter since 2003 and cover 4,5ha in #Pamhagen . Born in a large family and grew up on a farm with mixed agriculture, livestock and viticulture. Erich learned to respect family, animals and the associated work. Today, as winemaker, this respect has deepened even more. Michael is a farmer, proud of their livestock as much as the vineyard. He also takes care of their stunning garden, full of flowers, plants and herbs. They treat the vineyard as a living #organism , as well as working without chemicals or additives in the winery. 🍃 Zsolt Sütó cultivates 12 hectares of vines in the village of Strekov, in Slovakia. The Garam Valley’s #microclimate ensures a long optimal ripening season as the temperature is moderated by the #Danube river. 🍃 Mas Coutelou was established in 1972 and has been run organically since 1987, "before this type of production became fashionable” says Jean-Francois Coutelou. Today he farms 14 hectares of vines, as well as a few hundred olive trees. His father planted the first vines back in 1966 and was one of the pioneers of organic viticulture in the Hérault, when there were just seven organic wine growers in the entire department, today the estate is registered with 'Nature et Progrès'. They have been tending their organic wines near their village of Courgis for over twenty years now. The last three or four years Alice and Olivier have been hit by frosts and hail on a number of occasions which has severely affected their harvests. They have therefore been forced to buy grapes from friends in the south so they have enough wine to survive. The lovely art work on the labels is drawn by Olivier himself. 🍃 Cà de Noci was established in 1993 by the brothers Giovanni and Alberto Masini on their family’s estate near Reggio Emilia. Both Brothers wanted to plant local traditional grapes that were slowly disappearing, among them the Spergola, Malbo Gentile and Montericco grapes. The vines are planted in 5 hectares of rocky #limestone soil along the Crostolo river. The dryness, and general poorness of the soils help give these grapes all their powerful flavor and minerality. He worked 15 years as a winemaker at @recaredo.cava, founded in 1924, most famously known for vintage brut nature #cavas , before deciding to return and take over to the family estate in 2015. They own 6,5 hectares of biodynamic vineyards, mostly #Xarello , all on pure limestone.
