Goodbye to the Harry Potter under the stairs hovel. It's been real. ✌🏽
Last Day at the M- This year was tough for a lot of people and for a lot of reasons. But I got to spend a good chunk of it talking about accessibility, and art, and education, and the never ending importance of inclusion - and that made it all a little more tolerable. I loved this Arts Access project and working with the individuals I met throughout the state of MN. And of course, much love goes out to my coworkers at the @mnmuseum! I thank you and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I'm going to cry at home (probably on the bus ride home) later on, but I love you for giving me the space to get angry, and to care, and to rant, and to gush about my love of theater. I will be at the opening of the new space with bells on, ready to cheer! As I get ready to move on to the MN Center for Book Arts, I will keep all of the lessons and laughs with me. We will party on into 2018, like the strong badass nonprofiteers that we are! Love, Jess💖#mnmuseum #them2017 #artaccess #accessibility #lastday #wethepeople #pocpower
It’s hard to capture the detail of the cloth-wrapped cover but I’m #currentlyreading @pepestudionyc “Hot Mess Formalism.” Sheila will be visiting the Twin Cities as part of our @mnmuseum “Off-Site” programming. We are VERY excited to be co-presenting, with our friends @mcadedu and @craftcouncil, a FREE and open to the public artist talk [MCAD Auditorium 150, Thursday, Feb. 1, 6:30pm] where she’ll be speaking about her important work, how she blends craft and installation with her ‘improvisational crochet,’ her current mid-career retrospective @phxart, and (maybe!) give us all a little info about her installation that will premier in the new M when we re-open in 2018. See you there!

Ahhh come see #wethepeoplemn it closes this Sunday! This show has given me hope in how we can redefine America. By focusing on queer, trans, and gender non conforming artists this show has attempted to bring to light the lived experience of people who have made America a place I call home. I'm learning to focus in on when I have power and this show has manifested into something I am proud of. There is some good coming from 2017.
Give to the Max Day is coming right up, but there's no need to wait to show your support for the M. Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar you give between now and Nov. 16 will be matched, up to $10,000! Now's the time to invest in the power of art! ‘Twas a good night! Might’ve not been what we were expecting but we made the best out of it.
