Most fall dinner ever. @ohsheglows vegan broccoli “cheese” soup (yes you get to stir cheesy sauce in at the end) and @minimalistbaker Pumpkin Sage Biscuits (with vegan butter and maple syrup on top). Even AJ gets to try some soup. #dairyfree #soyfree #babyledweaning #scratchbaking #falldinner
Our outdoor party turned into an indoor party because of the wind. Our power went out shortly after guests started arriving (and didn’t come back on until early this morning - we spent the night at a hotel). No hay ride, lots of people in our small house, not much to do but drink and watch the kids play. But it didn’t matter - we had SO much fun celebrating this little guy with everyone - including 4 generations - and realizing that AJ is so loved by so many was the best part of the weekend. I know we have many more years ahead of us, but something about making it through year 1 gives me a little room to breathe. Love you all and thank you again for the ways you’ve helped us through this first year!
1. It’s been an amazing year. Thank you to those who came to celebrate with us today, and to everyone who’s helped us navigate this crazy adventure with our little dude.
It is SO hard to leave for a run when this little butternut squash is so cuddly and cute but I wanted to see how my legs were feeling. The answer - not great. More recovery needed, everything just felt heavy. I was considering a half in a couple of weeks but I’m leaning away from that idea now. Local 5Ks and 10Ks for the rest of the fall it is, starting tomorrow with an easy stroller 5K. How’s everyone else’s recovery going? I wish I lived near somewhere with compression boots and ice baths. Going to have to maybe invest in a pair and start DIY’ing it in my tub. Being a rural runner has its challenges, but it’s also nice having an entire town to myself in the morning. Oh PS, I decided to jump on the #strava bandwagon a few years too late... #runlikeamother #marathonrecovery #deadlegs
Dinner/balance. Black bean veggie burgers + salad + fries.
