Love is the most common word used to describe a feeling, an emotion or to simply express ourselves to another person.
I love 🍕 pizza, 🍦 ice cream, and ☕️ coffee. But I also love my children 👩👧👦and my spouse 💑. I must say that it would be pretty weird if I looked at my pizza, and said to my slice "I love you" before taking a bite. 🤦🏽♀️ It's not a love than can be mutual.
On the other hand, the love that we experience in the Lord is mutual, full and true.
In today's One Year Bible, we read of Paul and Silas going to prison after being beaten for rebuking an evil spirit. It would have been easy for them to question God's love through this trial. Instead, they expressed their love for God by praying and singing hyms. God's love for us has been proven through His Son, Jesus. Our love for Him should not be defined by our situations. In today’s passage, His love was demonstrated to those around Paul and Silas. A sudden earthquake caused the doors to be opened and chains to fall off the prisoners. A trial in the life of these two believers was used to reveal God's love. Jesus had his eyes set upon one man, the jailer. After seeing all that had happened he asked, "What must I do to be saved?" They responded, "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household." His unfailing love brings us into repentance!! This jailer was CHANGED BY THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD’s LOVE! 🏡 He brought them to his home. 🥘 🍶He served Paul & Silas. ✝️💦He and his family were baptized. 📖They heard the Word. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 And, they REJOICED!!! Rejoice my sweet friend!! Today, experience the love of Christ and remember the moment when you first believed. Know that His eyes are on you! Know that Christ LOVES YOU!
Sometimes He shakes our world to draw us near to Him BECAUSE HE LOVES US!
